Next Week in Sunday School

Youth Sunday School has grown so popular that we’ve decided to break into two groups! I’m thrilled to announce that Ryan and Laurie Moore have prayerfully accepted SMBC’s invitation to lead our high school Sunday School group at 9:30am! Our middle school students will be led on Sunday mornings by Greg and Sara Dowell at the same hour.

This school year, the primary study for both groups will be the book of Acts. To prepare our students for what God began to do through the early church, both groups are first examining the final days of Christ’s ministry, to include His death, resurrection, and departing commission for His disciples.

Join us on Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 10:30, as we journey back to the founding of the early church. By looking back, we’re sure to grow our understanding of God’s plan and purpose for our lives going forward!

Upcoming Events

Old Testament Quiz Bowl!
October 17, 5pm

We’re bringing back an old favorite! Quiz Bowls give us a chance to test our knowledge of scripture in a rapid fire competition. We’ll have food and prizes as well, so you’ll want to begin reviewing God’s word today!

Past Events

We had an absolutely amazing time growing in the Lord together at FUGE camp! 38 students and 6 adult leaders traveled to Ridgecrest, N.C. for a week of worship, sidewalk evangelism, Bible study, and much more! Our students were willing to get real with one another, unloading their burdens before God and their peers, so that their walk with the Lord would be strengthened!

We have much to be thankful for as a result of the FUGE ministry. When you have a chance, ask a student to share what God did in his or her life at camp!

Youth Bible Study Scope and Sequence

The Student Ministry’s sole purpose at SMBC is to make the triune God known. We believe that each of our young people have an innate desire to know their place and value in the world, and that our role in their lives is to point them to Christ who desires to be the center and source of their life’s purpose. Foundational to this work is a devotion to God’s Word as the final authority of our faith in Christ. Everything we do to engage our students is in one way, shape, or form, designed around God’s timeless word.

Our students, volunteers, and leaders are growing in the Lord together through purposeful exploration of God’s Word, meaningful discussion & fellowship, and prayer sustained by faith & knowledge of the One who saves! We invite your students to join us as we grow and learn what it means to live a life set apart while winning the lost for Christ!
